CardioScan Aotearoa offers Echocardiogram (Echo) services which test for cardiac dysfunction, in order to ensure timely intervention and prevent further complications for patients.

Echo services focus on detection of conditions which include suspected heart failure, valvular disease, ischeamic heart disease, cardiomyopathy, congenital heart disease, pericardial disease, atrial fibrillation/arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension and endocarditis.

What is the Quality Assurance process for Echo tests?

All Echocardiography studies are reviewed by a Cardiac Physiologist and signed-off by a New Zealand based Cardiologist.

How can I access the finalised patient Echo report?

Finalised Echocardiogram reports are available in BeatBox (our cloud-based reporting platform).

As BeatBox is browser-based, reports can be easily and securely accessed from any device, with no need for software, apps or mobile network coverage.

Sleep Study Tests

Sleep studies form a vital part of cardiac and respiratory assessment due to causative and compounding impact of sleep disorders. At CardioScan Aotearoa, we offer level 2 and 3 sleep studies and level 4 oximetry tests.

Exercise Stress Echo

The patient will be asked to complete a regular treadmill exercise test, while their ECG, heart rate and blood pressure are recorded. After the treadmill exercise test, the patient will be quickly moved back to the patient bed and the heart will be looked at again for any sign of abnormal activities.

Exercise Tolerance Test

An Exercise Tolerance Test (ETT) is a non-invasive testing method of detecting heart disease which may otherwise not be evident without exercise. A 12-lead ECG forms part of the test.
